Queer Bozeman connects, strengthens, and advances the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the greater Gallatin Valley of Montana while working to understand and challenge systems of oppression.

Our Founding

Queer and trans folks have always been here, since before the land was called a state. Queer Bozeman builds on queer community found in Bozeman, the Gallatin Valley, and Montana for years.

The founding board of Queer Bozeman formed in the spring of 2023 with Jason Baide, Christopher Coburn, Deon Daniels, PJ Diamond, Maris Fessenden, Sara Freedwoman, Hazel Gonzalez, Marrakech Maxwell, Donald Stucker, and Elsie Thomson.

Queer Bozeman started as a project to connect members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the Bozeman area. Now, as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization, Queer Bozeman hosts educational workshops, social gatherings, community celebrations, and resource offerings. Queer Bozeman seeks to strengthen connections in the broader community by promoting others’ events, sharing news, and partnering with like-minded organizations and groups. Queer Bozeman is, and will always be, welcoming of individuals of all races, ages, genders, sexualities, and abilities.
